This browser can’t compress video yet. It needs WebCodecs, which recent Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on a computer have. Firefox on Android doesn’t. Try another browser, or use the photo compressor.

        Short answer

Yahoo Mail accepts up to 25 MB for all the files in one message added together, so most phone videos are too big to attach as they are. To compress a video for Yahoo Mail, drop it above, keep the Yahoo Mail preset and download an MP4 of about 24 MB. It attaches to your message like any other file.

How to fit a video under the Yahoo Mail limit

        1. Choose the video

Pick the MP4 or MOV from your phone, camera or computer. The file never leaves your device while it is compressed. If you plan to attach more than one video, set a smaller custom size for each, because Yahoo adds the files together.

        2. Keep the Yahoo Mail preset

The size is already set to the Yahoo Mail 25 MB limit. The tool aims for about 24 MB, so the file stays under the line with 1 MB to spare.

        3. Compress

Press Compress video. Your browser re-encodes the video as H.264 with AAC sound, and checks the size when it is done. If the file is over the target, the tool lowers the bitrate, and the resolution or frame rate if needed, then runs again.

        4. Attach it in Yahoo Mail

Download the MP4 and attach it to your message in Yahoo Mail on the web or in the app. A video that was too big now travels as a regular attachment.

        Yahoo Mail attachment size limit

Yahoo Mail’s max attachment size is one combined figure for the whole message, not a limit for each file. Two 15 MB clips already come to 30 MB, and Yahoo counts them together. The same figure is given for sending and for receiving. Other providers set their own numbers, and the full list of email attachment size limits is on one page.

        Direction Limit What counts
Messages you send 25 MB The Yahoo Mail file size limit is a total: the sum of all attached files in one message
Messages you receive 25 MB The same combined cap applies to incoming mail
Number of files Not stated Yahoo’s help page gives only the combined size, not a maximum number of attachments

Questions about Yahoo Mail and video

How to send a large video on Yahoo Mail?

Make a smaller copy first. Choose your video above, keep the Yahoo Mail preset and download the result. It comes out at about 24 MB, so it fits under 25 MB as a normal attachment. A video that is simply too long to fit gets a clear warning, not a file that Yahoo would refuse.

How many MB can Yahoo Mail send?

Up to 25 MB per message. Yahoo’s help page says the sum of all attached files in a single message must not exceed 25 MB, and the same cap applies to mail you send and mail you receive.

How many attachments can you send in Yahoo Mail?

Yahoo’s help page sets a combined size and does not give a maximum number of files. What matters is that everything you attach adds up to 25 MB or less, so one well-compressed video leaves the most room.

Why is my Yahoo Mail attachment too big?

Because all your attachments are added together. Three 10 MB clips make 30 MB, which is over the limit even though each file looks small. Compress the video to a single file under 25 MB, or remove one of the other attachments. To send several videos in one message, see how to send multiple videos through email. If the same video is going to an iCloud Mail or Outlook app address, those stop at 20 MB, so compress video to 20 MB instead.

What is the Yahoo Mail video size limit?

Yahoo publishes one limit for attachments and none that is specific to video. A video counts like any other file. At the 25 MB size, good quality holds about 41 seconds at 1080p, 1 minute 31 seconds at 720p or 3 minutes 14 seconds at 480p, so a three-minute video comes out at 480p. A longer one is scaled down further, and the plan says when quality drops. The video size calculator shows what fits for any length.

Is the Yahoo Mail attachment size limit the same for receiving?

Yes. The Yahoo email attachment size limit when you receive mail is the same 25 MB: Yahoo says the cap covers messages you send and messages you receive, so a video sent to your Yahoo address also has to fit in 25 MB.

How do I send a video through Yahoo Mail from my phone?

Here is how to send a video through Yahoo email from your phone: compress it on the phone and attach the result. On an iPhone use Safari, which also opens the HEVC videos iPhones record. On Android use Chrome. Keep the page open until the download is ready, then attach the MP4 in the Yahoo Mail app like any other file.

Is my video uploaded when I compress it?

No. Your browser processes the video on your own device and the page sends it nowhere, so you skip the wait for an upload. Compression does trade some quality for size, and you can play the result before you download it.

Our iPhone app makes smaller copies of the videos in your library, right on the device. Choose 25 MB for Yahoo Mail or enter a size of your own, see the estimate before you start, and compare the copy with the original afterwards. Nothing is uploaded to a server, large batches run in the background with Premium, and your originals stay in Photos until you decide.
